"How long will my roof replacement take?" is one of the first questions Connecticut homeowners ask us. The short answer: most Roof Next jobs are done in a single day. Let's walk through the complete timeline.
What Happens on Roof Replacement Day in Connecticut
7:00 AM โ Crew Arrives
Roof Next crews arrive at the agreed start time. Tarps are laid across all landscaping, driveways, and deck areas to catch debris.
7:30 AM โ Tear-Off Begins
Old shingles and underlayment are stripped. We inspect the exposed decking for soft spots, rot, or damaged areas. We notify you immediately if we find additional work needed.
9:00โ10:00 AM โ Deck Repairs (if needed)
Any damaged sheathing is replaced. We show you before and after if there are repairs.
10:00 AM โ 12:00 PM โ Underlayment & Ice & Water Shield
Ice & water shield goes down at eaves and valleys first. Synthetic underlayment covers the rest of the field.
12:00โ4:00 PM โ Shingle Installation
Starter strips, field shingles, hip and ridge cap installed in sequence. Flashing around chimneys, vents, and dormers is installed or replaced.
4:00โ5:00 PM โ Cleanup
Debris is loaded and removed. Magnetic sweeps cover the entire property. All tarps removed. Gutters cleaned of debris.
5:00โ5:30 PM โ Final Walkthrough
We walk the finished roof with you and provide all warranty documentation before leaving.
Total time: 1 day for most Connecticut homes (1,500โ3,000 sq ft). Larger or more complex roofs may extend to 1.5โ2 days.
